BAHAMIAN BEACH HOUSE

Abaco, Bahamas

Prior to improvements, Prince’s Trust was a largely undeveloped, 12-acre property with a single-family home overlooking a beautiful pink sand beach on the Atlantic.

The surroundings were comprised of thick, native vegetation with a dirt road leading to the east side of the property.

Designed improvements included a new road leading to the west side of the home, abandonment of the old road, accommodations for a future cottage, an entry court, extensive plantings, irrigation, renovation of the beach, and various wood pergolas, trellises and gates.

Native and adapted plants were used, including areas of Paspalum lawn for visual interest and gatherings. Informal walkways were made of beach sand and white cement.
